South Carolina's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 10.8 percent in July, the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, in partnership with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reported today.
The national unemployment rate for July remained the same at 9.5 percent.
The Palmetto State's unemployment rate of 10.8 is up 0.1 percentage point from 10.7 percent recorded in June, and 1.2 percentage points below the July 2009 rate.
